This week was a very productive one. I was finally able to finish up most of my buddy code, and start my transition to the private chats. I was able to make large strides in my private chat code as well. I added support for receiving messages, sending messages, and even typing notifications.
During the middle of the week, to help me test my plug-in, I installed the official Yahoo! Messenger client on another Windows PC in my house, and used that to chat with myself. Amazingly, a few bugs showed themselves when my plug-in tried to chat with the official messenger, two of which were duplicate messages, and buddies being shown as offline even though they were online and idle. Thankfully, I was able to solve these problems, and doing so was easy thanks to the help I got from my mentor, Patrick, and the rest of the Instantbird developers.
Next week, I look forward to improving my code for private chats, and search for any more bugs in my buddy code.
